How To – Tie A Helicopter Rig
How To – Tie A Helicopter Rig Advanced
The Helicopter rig is a fantastic set up for natural water feeder fishing. The main benefit of the Helicopter rig is the anti-tangle properties this rig offers.
Required Items
Medium Heli Swivel |
Snap Link Swivel |
Serrated Scissors |
A Feeder or Bomb |
Thread A Super Tight Line Stop
Add a Super Tight Line Stop onto your main line (we recommend using a Medium Stop).
Add The Heli-Swivel
Now, put on a Medium Heli-Swivel.
Trap The Heli-Swivel
Follow this with another Super Tight Line Stop, trapping the Heli-Swivel in place. Then pull all three items up the line.
Adding A Snap Link
Thread on a Snap Link Swivel to the main line. We recommend using a palomar knot for this step, trimming the tag end with around 8-10mm in length.
Adjust The Line Stops
Pull the two Super Tight Line Stops and Heli Swivel down to the base of the knot, buffering up gently to it.
Attaching The Hooklength And Feeder
Finishing off the Helicopter rig you need to attach your hooklength ot the Heli Swivel, pulling over the bead trapping your hooklength in place. Finally, attach your feeder of choice.
