How To - Make Mikey's Secret Bomb Hook Bait
Want to create a hook bait that fish simply can’t resist? Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to make Mikey’s Secret Bomb Hook Bait — a perfectly balanced, high-attraction setup designed to tempt even the wariest fish.
Drill out pellet
Start by grabbing your pellet and drill, and drill out your 8mm pellet.
Get your baiting needle
Push a baiting needle through the hole in the pellet.
Slide pellet onto your rig
Place the loop of the hair of your hook length onto the baiting needle and slide the pellet on.
Grab your wafter
Grab your favourite wafter, ensuring it is the same size as the pellet for optimal presentation. Mikey likes to use the Mainline Match 8mm Tuna Wafters.
Trim the wafter
Using a pair of scissors, cut the top off the wafter.
Thread cut wafter onto baiting needle
Thread the cut piece of wafter onto a baiting needle, ensuring the flat side faces towards the point of the needle.
Pass loop of hair onto the needle
Pass the loop of the hair onto the baiting needle.
Now thread on the wafter
Thread the wafter onto the hair rig, and it should look like this.
Get your micro hair stop
To keep the hook bait secure on the fair, use a micro hair stop.
Get your Mainline Smart Liquid
Grab yourself some mainline Smart liquid and give the hook bait a nice coating.
Cast out and catch with your new hook bait!
