Frankie Gianoncelli

Frankie, AKA ‘Tank’, is from Brighouse in West Yorkshire, and started fishing at 12 years of age on his local Brighouse Canal. He soon became a member of the Barnsley Junior team and joined a local senior club team called Tri-Cast Calder. Here, he began competing in adult matches on the commercial and natural venue match scene in the north of England. Winning the Individual in the renowned ‘Happy League’ on the big northern canal circuit was a great early achievement, before getting the call-up to the Barnsley Blacks team at 18 years of age where he has progressed to win multiple nationals, final and World Club Championship medals, including a gold in France 2017. Occupation wise, Frankie works in the Marketing And Media department at Tackle Guru, filming, presenting and creating all kinds of inspirational, entertaining and interesting content for the brand including his own Vlog with fellow Guru Matt Godfrey. He competes at a super high level on all kinds of venues and styles of fishing on the UK circuit, qualifying for many big money finals and finishing in an agonising second place in the Maver Match This Final in 2015. Ambition wise, ‘Tank’ is keen to keep competing at the highest level with both his team and individual fishing, with the long-term goal of representing England on the World Stage clearly in his eyeline!
