Bucket Grey 18L |
Grab your Mainline Match Margin Mix
Grab yourself some ground bait. Mainline Match Margin Mix is the only ground bait you need when fishing down the edge for carp. Full of heavy particles and takes on plenty of water. Now, pour the contents in a large bucket.

Add some water
Add water. It's essential to take your time with this, as getting it wrong and adding too much water will ruin any ground bait. With the Mainline Match Margin Mix, a 1kg bag usually takes 1.5 pints of water initially.

Mix it around
Give it a good mix around, ensuring all the ground bait in the bucket has been watered.

Let it soak in
Once all the water is worked into the ground bait, it should look like this. Slightly over wet, but it's important now to leave it for 15-20 minutes to have all the particles in the ground bait to soak up that water.

Get it perfect!
Once it's been left for a while, it's time to add a little more water. But be careful, it won't need much, around ¼ to ½ a pint more water is perfect. Give it another good mix, ensuring all the ground bait is damp.

Riddle the Ground Bait
Time to riddle the ground bait, using a Guru Multi Riddle; the 6mm mesh is ideal. This keeps your ground bait heavy and coarse, and it also goes through much easier than it would using a smaller mesh size. Now, push the ground bait through the riddle.

The perfect margin ground bait
Here is the finished product. The perfect margin ground bait is ready to catch some carp. All that's left to do is pot it in… And catch yourself a margin carp!
